Dance Teachers

Xochitl Gamas

Xochitl Gamas, originally from Monterrey, Mexico, began her dance training at the age of six in Ballet, Jazz, Tahitian, and Hula dance in private dance studios. She continued her dance education at La Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon where she specialized in contemporary dance. She was awarded a scholarship to continue her dance studies at Centro Nacional de Danza Contemporanea where she received a certification as a Graham Technique Instructor. Ms. Gamas then moved to Austin Texas and completed her BA in Theatre and Dance with an emphasis in dance at The University of Texas. Ms. Gamas danced with UANL dance company, CENADAC dance company, and DRT dance company. She has performed works by renowned choreographers like Guillermina Bravo, Federico Castro, Tony Bravo, William Forsythe, and Charlotte Boye-Christensen among others. She has also trained with Christine Dakin, former principal dancer of the Graham’s Company, and faculty at the Julliard School and the Ailey School. Ms Gamas recently attended master classes by G. Madison, and Misha Gabriel, Step Up Actor and Dancer. She loves sharing her passion for dance with her students and unleashing their artistic potential.

Victoria Ochoa

Born and raised in a small country town of Texas, Ms. Ochoa began dancing in eighth grade.The passion for dance grew as she was a member of her Drill Team for four years and held team Colonel for two years. She then went on to study dance and childhood development at Texas State University. There she was a member of a student led dance company and continued her study and love for dance and teaching. She has taken classes and learned from many wonderful dancers, choreographers and instructors. She has taught gymnastics and has worked with students at high school and elementary level. She is in her second year of teaching and has a passion for dance and positively impacting student's lives.
